It was the nation's 60th birthday yesterday and many fellow Singaporeans gathered at the Padang where the national day parade is held. A very special occasion as the nation moves into another new decade. With global financial and climate challenges looming, the most important thing is for the nation to come together as one and brace each challenge together like how we did before.
And it is at approximately 10 minutes before 7pm which marked the arrival of our newly elected president whom is attending as the VIP of the parade. And upon his car arrived at the parade ground, the crowd was roaring and cheering to greet the VIP as he is ushered from his car to the platform for a military salute as the national anthem sounded with a chinook helicopter flying past the parade ground with a Singapore flag slung below it, flowing freely to the wind.
After the national anthem, inspecting of the guard of honour, the parade started proper as a series of mass display took stage which was wrapped up by the night sky dazzled by 15 minutes of firework display.
