The teachings of Brother Eli offers a profound understanding of the enduring presence of our true God.
We are far from living this world without God. The ascending of Christ has been about the movement of amplifying his divine influence and trying to extend his power to a global level. So these perspectives have grounded us and we shape our mind as believers and how we view the role of God after ascending to heaven.
Let's take the book of John 12, 30:32.
Jesus says, If I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw on men unto me. Brother Eli decided to connect this to when Moses lifted the serpent,That is in John 13, 14. Which saved those who were beaten by the snakes.
Jesus' ministry on earth was limited. He ascended to just the holy land. His ascensions drew everyone to himself. I know this elevation has to signify universal power.
Let's look at Matthew 28, verse 12. This further explains it. Jesus declared that all power is given unto me in heaven and earth before sending his disciples to all nations. That is in Matthew 28, verse 19.
Jesus promised that I will be with you always, even unto the end of the world.
But he assured his disciples of his constant presence. So this, in turn, dispels the notion that him ascending means he left the world without God.
Brother Eli have to reference to 1 John 5, verse 20, which points to the fact that Jesus, and in heaven, remains that true God and eternal life. And remember, this verse was written in the present tense. And this signifies the completion and the ongoing reality of divine presence, distinguishing him from all those false gods we have on earth.
This teaching really deepens my faith, ascending to heaven was the because of his expression of his mission he had always promised to be with us always and that has made we believers to be confident of him and always trust in his unending guardians and power waiting from heaven over all creation on earth.
