Hoy cedemos nuestro espacio a un hiver talentoso que se ha desarrollado como profesional de la salud mental, hablamos de @omarqm, un amigo de la casa que ha venido a contarnos sus experiencias en la blockchain y cómo se proyecta en ella en un futuro cercano.
Omar nos ha compartido sus pasiones a través de su blog, así como su afición por la lectura y su incursión en el mundo de los videojuegos. Él sigue aprendiendo y construyendo en comunidad, así que atentos a sus respuestas, allí encontraremos algunos consejos que nos podrían ayudar en la Web3.

1. Cuéntanos un poco de ti. ¿Quién eres fuera de la pantalla de Hive? (Profesión, hobbies, de dónde eres, etc.)
Empezando por el principio jajaja, soy de Venezuela, específicamente del estado Yaracuy, de San Felipe, pasé mi infancia y adolescencia allí, hasta que empecé mis estudios universitarios en Psicología en la UCLA, lo que me llevó a residenciarme en Lara, en la ciudad de Barquisimeto, en la que actualmente ya tengo más de 5 años viviendo. En cuanto a mi profesión, soy Licenciado en Psicología en libre ejercicio en el área Clínica, pertenezco también a dos voluntarios (público y privado) en los que ofrezco mis servicios a la población vulnerable para acceder a servicios de salud mental. En cuanto a mis hobbies me gustan muchas cosas jaja, desde leer mucho, tengo muchos tipos de lecturas, desde fantasías, animados, mitologías, filosofía, historia universal. A la vez también me gusta dibujar, aunque tengo varios años sin poder hacerlo por los estudios, me gusta bailar, tengo una trayectoria de baile un poco larga en salsa casino y de verdad fue una de mis mejores épocas. Y actualmente le he encontrado el gusto a relajarme en el mundo gaming.
2. ¿Cómo llegaste a Hive y cuál fue tu primera impresión?
Es bastante curioso, yo supe de Hive, más o menos por mi actual pareja @kiutvariadades, yo siempre la escuchaba hablar de Hive, en las etapas de conocernos, en las cosas de saber de las actividades que hacía uno y del otro, estaba Hive, más no entendía a ciencia cierta que era, más allá de que publicaba cosas jaja. Hasta que en el 2022 y justo porque recordaba el Logo de Hive, en mi Decanato de Humanidades y Artes se dio una actividad para dar a conocer Hive a los estudiantes, a lo que yo le digo a ella "Ey mira, ¿esto no es a dónde trabajas tú?" Jajaja a lo que ella me responde: "Sí, anda y ve si te gusta, aunque seguro que sí te gustará" y bueno, como yo aparte, mi identidad "secreta", era el Presidente del Centro de Estudiantes del Decanato justamente jajaja, igual tenía que estar por allá, pero quería tener la seguridad de ella antes. De allí fue un antes y un después, pude conocer a personas que hoy mantengo contacto así sea a la distancia gracias a este ecosistema, sobre todo a los que me ayudaron en mis primeros pasos como lo fue @filoriologo @zullyscott y @yonnathang. Y luego al team completo de @hiversbqto, por supuesto, sin olvidar que la semilla de todo empezó por mi pareja jajaja.
3. ¿Cuál es la diferencia más grande que ves entre las redes sociales convencionales (como Facebook, Instagram, tik tok, etc) y las redes sociales que hay dentro de Hive?
La enorme diferencia es que no respondemos a una persona que pueda decir en que momento "esto se acaba" como para dar un ejemplo, más allá de lo obvio de que no tenemos algoritmo, ni depender de seguidores sino que somos netamente una construcción de una comunidad. Lo más diferente para mí, es que mañana el dueño de Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Tik tok o X pueden quebrar, o pueden entrar en una situación legal que les pondrá en juicio sus plataformas donde muchas personas con esfuerzo y talento ganan dinero hoy en día, desaparezca en un momento, y allí, Hive aún seguirá.
4. Si tuvieras que definir Hive en una sola frase, ¿cuál sería?
Solidez ante la adversidad.
5. ¿En qué comunidades sueles publicar o interactuar con mayor frecuencia y por qué?
Actualmente he centralizado mejor mi contenido, por experiencia y por lo que realmente me gusta generar contenido. Entre ellas está Movies&TV, Lifestyle, HiveGaming/GeekZone, Humanitas y Family&Friend.
6. ¿Cuál ha sido tu mayor logro o la experiencia más gratificante que has tenido en Hive hasta ahora?
Mi mayor logro fue poder diversificar mi contenido, de lo que a mí me gusta, como Omar no profesional, de lo que le gusta a hacer, crear y compartir como creador de contenido. Al profesional de psicología, que también me gusta crear contenido de salud mental, pero en una cuenta más especializada para eso, desde muchos formatos de contenido y contando con las herramientas que tiene Hive.
7. ¿Qué fue lo más difícil de aprender en tus inicios?
*Organizarme, de verdad que para publicar contenido, hay que tener una organización con tu tiempo, los días pero principalmente con la autoexigencia, hubieron días donde me sentía mal porque no lograba publicar tal material por x o y razón por mis ocupaciones. Así que realmente es una introspección de organización pero también flexible contigo mismo de que si no públicas o tuviste una mala semana, no pasa nada.
8. ¿Cómo describirías tu visión a futuro dentro del ecosistema de Hive?
Yo me veo como un promotor de Hive, por supuesto con mejor experiencia, recursos y aportando más que mi contenido, porque eso sabemos que solo es el 10% de lo que podemos hacer en el ecosistema. Mi visión es aportar desde recursos ya sea humanos, de traer personas interesadas en nuestro ecosistema, como plantear una red salud mental integra por medio de la tecnología web3
9. ¿Qué consejo le darías a un hiver que apenas está comenzando?
Paciencia, sobre todo en sus primeras publicaciones y que es mejor preguntar y repreguntar, que hacer algo improvisado o apresurado. No hay mejor forma de navegar en Hive que con asesoría, sin suponer y aprender de los que ya tienen tiempo aquí, y saber que Roma no se conquistó en un solo día, hay que ser muy conscientes de eso.
10. Si quieres explicarle Hive a un familiar o amigo, para que se una a la plataforma, ¿qué le dirías para convencerlo?
Que de las 7h al día que le dedica a las redes sociales convencionales puede decirle al menos 2h a un ecosistema mejor, descentralizado y teniendo una gran probabilidad de monetizar sin tanto obstáculos con ese tiempo invertido 😂
11. Para finalizar, ¿Has tenido alguna experiencia directa con Hispapro? Si es así, ¿qué tal ha sido?
Por supuesto!! Podría contar muchas experiencias pero en resumen todas han sido maravillosas, conocer el equipo de Hispapro me ha dejado bastantes anécdotas y aventuras muy buenas, conociendo más sobre Hive y dando oportunidades, además como Hive me la dio a mí en su momento. Me enorgullece mucho que haya un equipo y una comunidad hispano hablante de Hive en varios puntos de Venezuela como Hispapro en la contribución de nuestro ecosistema🩵

Today we’re giving the floor to a talented young man who has established himself as a mental health professional: @omarqm, a friend of ours who’s here to share his experiences with blockchain and his plans for the near future in this space.
Omar has shared his passions with us through his blog, including his love of reading and his foray into the world of video games. He continues to learn and build within the community, so pay close attention to his answers—there we’ll find some tips that could help us in Web3.

1. Tell us a little about yourself. Who are you outside of Hive? (Job, hobbies, where you’re from, etc.)
Starting from the beginning, haha, I’m from Venezuela, specifically from the state of Yaracuy, in San Felipe. I spent my childhood and adolescence there until I began my undergraduate studies in Psychology at UCLA, which led me to settle in Lara, in the city of Barquisimeto, where I’ve now been living for over five years. As for my profession, I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and work as a private practitioner in the clinical field. I’m also involved with two volunteer organizations (one public and one private) where I offer my services to help vulnerable populations access mental health services. As for my hobbies, I like a lot of things, haha—I read a lot, and my reading tastes are wide-ranging, from fantasy and anime to mythology, philosophy, and world history. I also enjoy drawing, although I haven’t been able to do it for several years due to my studies. I love dancing; I have a fairly long history of dancing salsa casino, and it was truly one of the best times of my life. And lately, I’ve discovered a new passion for relaxing in the world of gaming.
2. How did you discover Hive, and what was your first impression?
It’s pretty funny—I first heard about Hive from my current partner, @kiutvariadades. I’d always hear her talk about Hive when we were getting to know each other, as we learned about each other’s activities. Hive was always there, but I didn’t really understand what it was, beyond the fact that she posted things there, haha. Then in 2022, just because I remembered the Hive logo, my College of Humanities and Arts held an event to introduce Hive to students, so I said to her, “Hey, look, isn’t this where you work?” Hahaha, to which she replied: "Yeah, go check it out and see if you like it, though I’m sure you will," and well, since I was also, my "secret" identity, the President of the Dean’s Office Student Council, hahaha, I had to be there anyway, but I wanted her assurance first. From there, it was a turning point. I got to meet people I’m still in touch with today, even if only from a distance, thanks to this ecosystem—especially those who helped me take my first steps, like @filoriologo, @zullyscott, and @yonnathang. And then the whole team at @hiversbqto, of course, not forgetting that it all started with my partner, hahaha.
3. What do you see as the biggest difference between conventional social media platforms (such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and the social media within Hive?
The huge difference is that we don’t answer to a single person who could decide at any moment to say, “This is over”—to give an example—beyond the obvious fact that we don’t have an algorithm or rely on followers, but are purely a community-driven platform. The biggest difference for me is that tomorrow, the owners of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok, or X could go bankrupt, or they could face a legal situation that puts their platforms on trial—platforms where many people with hard work and talent earn money today—and it could all disappear in an instant, yet Hive will still be here.
4. If you had to describe Hive in a single sentence, what would it be?
Resilience in the face of adversity.
5. In which communities do you usually post or interact most frequently, and why?
I’ve now better focused my content, based on experience and what I truly enjoy creating. These include Movies & TV, Lifestyle, HiveGaming/GeekZone, Humanitas, and Family & Friends.
6. What has been your greatest achievement or most rewarding experience on Hive so far?
My greatest achievement was being able to diversify my content—from what I enjoy as Omar the non-professional, what I like to do, create, and share as a content creator, to the psychology professional, who also enjoys creating mental health content, but on a more specialized account for that purpose, using a variety of content formats and leveraging the tools available on Hive.
7. What was the hardest thing to learn when you first started?
*Staying organized. Honestly, to post content, you have to manage your time and schedule, but mainly you have to be disciplined with yourself. There were days when I felt bad because I couldn’t post certain content for one reason or another due to my other commitments. So it really comes down to self-reflection on organization, but also being flexible with yourself—if you don’t post or had a rough week, it’s okay.
8. How would you describe your vision for the future within the Hive ecosystem?
I see myself as a promoter of Hive—of course, with more experience and resources, and contributing more than just my content, because we know that’s only 10% of what we can do within the ecosystem. My vision is to contribute through resources—whether human resources, by bringing in people interested in our ecosystem, or by establishing a comprehensive mental health network using Web3 technology.
9. What advice would you give to a Hive user who is just getting started?
Patience, especially with your first posts, and that it’s better to ask and ask again than to do something improvised or rushed. There’s no better way to navigate Hive than with guidance—don’t assume anything, learn from those who’ve been here longer, and remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day; you have to be very aware of that.
10. If you wanted to explain Hive to a family member or friend to get them to join the platform, what would you say to convince them?
That out of the 7 hours a day they spend on conventional social media, they could dedicate at least 2 hours to a better, decentralized ecosystem with a high probability of monetizing their time without so many obstacles 😂
11. Finally, have you had any direct experience with Hispapro? If so, how was it?
Of course!! I could share many experiences, but in short, they’ve all been wonderful. Getting to know the Hispapro team has given me plenty of great stories and adventures, helping me learn more about Hive and providing opportunities—just as Hive did for me back in the day. I’m very proud that there’s a Spanish-speaking Hive team and community in various parts of Venezuela, like Hispapro, contributing to our ecosystem🩵
