Daily Freewrite Prompt 2718 - Entertain The Rabbit!

in Freewriters10 days ago

Chika was the reason I skipped school for the show, he promised it was going to be fun and I shouldn't miss it for the world not even for Mr. Mike's boring geography class.
I've always known Chika to hate Mr. Mike's classes but I never imagined him hating it to the point of skipping school for a town show.
The previous day in school Chika kept singing of this new show in town and demanded we attend at all costs, which I already made him understand that our school and classes were more important. He wasn't buying it and just went on fantasizing about the D-day and the entire show.

Chika wasn't very serious with studies but he wasn't dumb either, in fact it surprises the class every time he makes it to the top 5 in a class of 30. He was known for his unseriousness and inattentiveness in class, yet he kept meeting up and beating some regular serious students in the class.
He teasingly commented on his grade being better than the so called serious students in our class when we spoke about the show and how we shouldn't skip classes for it.

How I missed the school bus still remains a mystery to me. The day of the show, I found Chika on the other side of the road waiting for me which was quite unusual of him.
With a smile on his face, Chika broke the news to me, how we had missed the school bus and shouldn't bother going to school that day because we were already running late but instead we should head over to the show that was just a few minutes to kickstarting.
Chika ran over to where I stood and grabbed me by the hand and went down the road. He was forcefully dragging me alongside him against my will, I fought to get free from his grip but I couldn't so I just gave up trying until we arrived at the venue for the show.
On arrival, guess what our eyes first saw? A fully fed or should I say an overfed rabbit lying behind the curtains as if it was reluctant to be put in the spotlight with its master.
Perplexed at the sight of a fatigued looking rabbit, I couldn't tell when I burst into laughter asking who will be entertaining who? We or the puffy looking rabbit? Because at that point, it seemed like we would end up entertaining the rabbit from its resting place.

This one was definitely more than five minutes, and according to the rules of the prompt, it's okay to write longer than five minutes so I believe I am safe.
