LOH 268: WORK IN HOLIDAYS

With the way it is going for me, I think I would be active at work during this festive period. I know people would say that the Christmas period is one that should allow workers to be free and celebrate with family but the nature of my job is one that allows you to be on duty and this can be very hectic .

Working on holidays can filter off because you get to see families and friends celebrating the festive period Together but somehow you are isolated and missing out on family time. While this is hard, it taught me that we should learn to appreciate the time we get to spend with our family is and not misuse it. By days I mean there are people who whenever they get to be with their family or they are close friends they miss you the opportunity by dealing in unimportant things like fighting ,Malice and so on.

In everything, not being able to enjoy and experience the beauty of Christmas is a definite reminder that there are times when others will be working while some would be living their best life and vice versa. In all, it is okay to live the entire part of our life in gratitude and appreciation for those who do well.

There was one time I had a friend who was working during the festive period, I was so concerned about this that I had to pack up some stuffs for her and took it to the office, we had a great time that day. Also, appreciate the people that get things done on festive period because if the world or people stops their services to mankind, there would be chaos.

I was a Nurse for about 25 years, the Covid pandemic was the fuse that finally burned me out. I could of declined the extra work and incentive bonus pay but paid a heavy price.

Working during the pandemic was great sacrifice to humanity. I could image the stress and the things you did to keep people safe.

Our Healthcare system had lost a lot of part and full time staff in the pandemic far more from the stressful pandemic conditions than Covid-19 itself.

If there is one thing that I have learned is that wherever we are we ought to be there at that particular time and moment. I understand that it’s heartbreaking not spending the holidays with your family but then working and being amongst your colleagues could still count for something as you guys can arrange a mini celebration to mark the moment. It could be fun if you get the time

Whatever happened, happened for a reason, just look on the brighter side. Thank for sharing and enjoy your holiday.

Life is dynamic, one may be here today and the other side tomorrow.
I've worked for a telecom from Monday to Sunday except on my off days a very long time and that history is about repeating itself this festive season.
