Housebound was a nice surprise for me I didn't expect it to be at this level but it turned out to be a very enjoyable experience and different from traditional horror movies. The movie revolves around a girl named Kylie, who has problems and reckless behavior, and the court controls her and sentences her to house arrest in her mother's old house which is originally a strange and suspicious house. This is of course the beginning of all the events that will happen after that.

I think that the movie presented a nice mix between horror and comedy, and this is something that not all movies succeed in. I mean, there are really scary moments, and at the same time there are scenes that make you laugh unexpectedly, and I think that's what made it very enjoyable and not just an ordinary horror movie. The acting was good especially the heroine who was able to present a rebellious and nervous character but at the same time she has a kind of intelligence and sarcasm that made the character attractive.

The house itself was a horror element on its own the lighting and decorations made me feel that it was full of secrets and the more the story developed so the more we discovered strange things around the place. This kept me excited to see what would happen next but At first I thought it was just a traditional ghost movie, but as the events progressed, I discovered that the story was deeper and smarter than that, and this was a very beautiful thing.

The directing was good and I felt that the director knew exactly when to scare the viewer and when to ease the tension with comedy. I hope to see other horror movies in the same way, because many horror movies are repetitive and boring but Housebound was able to keep me entertained all the time.

If you like horror movies that don't take themselves too seriously and you want something different from traditional horror movies, then I think Housebound is a very good choice.

Thanks
