Exploring the place full of trees and wild plants is very relaxing and enjoyable. Far from the Crowded and urbanized areas of Barangay Punta Silum lies this relaxing and wonderful paradisiacal site. From the Main road, it needs to walked a few Meters away heading on a road trail. This place is what they called Sitio Lawis, only few houses can be seen here at most of the views and sceneries can be seen here are landscapes, Big rocks, Long road trail, tall and big trees and most of all this long stream connecting to the other side of the Zone. According to the story behind of this place, this was once also A native place were few native people lived. This place is truly a perfect place for all native people because it contains lots of trees, wild plants and perfect landscapes.
The stream contains this crystal clear fresh water and it fills the stream everytime when heavy rain happens here. Aside of that, most residents who lives near at the stream always went here bringing their clothes to do laundry. There are lots of big rocks at the stream and it will be easy to put the unwashed clothes and have a perfect place for laundry activities. This fresh and cold water gives a great contributions in terms of farming activities just like watering the crops and any agricultural plants. This water flows straight to the coastal areas of Barangay Punta Silum.
Sitio Lawis also contains few mountains and hills. This place was once an agricultural site of Native people and it filled with corn plants because it was once an open field. As many years has past when it was inhabited and owned by new land owner, the place is already filled with coconut trees. Almost 200 coconut trees planted here and most of it are already produced lots of coconut fruits. The hill is also covered with wild grass and plants and the soil is very fertile. This is the only one hill can be seen and found here at the Sitio, other mountains and hills is slightly far from this place and below of this place is the stream of the Sitio.
This road trail leads at the top of the hill and it is surrounded with lots of wild plants and big trees. It contains lots of rocks and peebles, there are lots of tourists loves to visit here taking pictures and enjoying themselves exploring the place bonding with Nature. This long road trail is very old and native people made this road trail that served as a shortcut going to the sitio. Because of the forestry place, the only thing we can heard here are swaying of leaves, tweeting of birds and splashing of water from the stream.
For Centuries ago, this huge rocks rolled down from the hill due to strong earthquakes happens here. It landed here many years already and covered with wild grass and twigs. Despite of that, it can make the place looks very attractive because of its rocks formations. Some of the rocks here are just sized as a house and we can be abled to climb up to see the overviews of the Sitio.
Because of lots of trees, coconut drier structure also built. This can help to all farmers by easily carried those lots of coconuts and to avoid carrying it in far place. This old coconut drier structure is still useful until now-a-days and hundreds of coconuts can load in the structure ready to dry.
Most of the cliffs here are filled with tall trees and wild plants, it helps the dry land away from erosions. Sitio Lawis also a perfect site for camping trips and Nature explorations.
