LADIES OF HIVE COMMUNITY WEEKLY CONTEST #246

in Ladies of Hive22 days ago (edited)

1️⃣ Belief in omens exists all around the world. While some are common across cultures such as black cats or shooting stars, others feel more personal. Have you experienced something that felt just like a sign?

2️⃣ Some things we own may not look like much to others, but to us, they mean the world. Do you have something like that in your possession that holds deep meaning, even if it’s not worth much on the surface? What makes it so special to you?

                    ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Hi Ladies,
I'm excited to participate in this week's contest and so glad to share my experience/thought.

  1. You know, those moments when you think, "Wow, this is more than just a coincidence, Well, I've had my fair share of those moments, and I have to say, it's pretty fascinating, and I get the chills whenever I encounter such.
For me, signs and omens are all around us. Sometimes, they're super personal, and other times, they're more common, like seeing a black cat or a shooting star. But what's interesting is how different cultures interpret these signs. For example, in some cultures, black cats are considered good luck, while in others, they're bad luck.

I've had a lot of experiences that felt like signs. Like, have you ever stumbled on a stone and thought, "Oh no, this is not good! Yeah, that happens to me occasionally, and guess what? Something bad is always likely to happen, or how about cutting my tongue? I always thought it was a sign of bad luck or that someone mentioned my name in a conversation and then there are the eye or eyelid twitches, in some cultures, it's believed to signal good or bad luck, depending on which eye is twitching, and also suddenly feeling lazy when I have an important thing or event to attend, well this particular one is believed to mean that whatever event it was won't end well or may not take place at all or most times it serves as an escape from misfortune.

Signs and omens are not just personal; they also have cultural significance. For instance, in many Asian cultures, the twitching of the left eye is considered a bad omen, while the twitching of the right eye is considered good luck. Understanding these cultural differences can help us appreciate the diversity of beliefs and traditions around the world.
Whether or not you believe in signs and omens, it's undeniable that they can be pretty influential. Sometimes, they make us more aware of our surroundings and the world around us. Other times, they can be a fun way to interpret events and experiences. Whether it's a personal sign or a cultural omen, these experiences can be fascinating and thought-provoking and from experience, it makes me alert.

2.I have a book that may not look like much to others, but to me, it's priceless. Its title is "Prayer Rain," written by Dr. D.K. Olukoya. My aunt gave it to me five years ago as a birthday gift, and I recently started reading it. At first, I didn't understand why she'd give me this particular book, but now I see the wisdom behind it.

I believe my aunt was passing a message to me through this book – to take my prayer life seriously. As I read through its pages, I realized that this book is more than just a collection of words, it's a spiritual guide that offers hope and direction. The author shares real-life experiences of individuals who have overcome challenges through prayer, and it encourages me.

About the Book
"Prayer Rain" is a treasure trove of spiritual wisdom. It provides practical advice on how to navigate life's challenges and come out victorious. The book is divided into sections, including praise and worship, positivity self-declaration, and prayer outlines. Each section is designed to help readers deepen their relationship with God and find strength in prayer.

I like to think of "Prayer Rain" as a spiritual jacket that wraps me in protection and guidance. Whenever I feel lost or overwhelmed, I turn to this book for direction. Its words of wisdom and encouragement remind me that I'm not alone in this journey called life, and most importantly, it helps draw me closer to my creator.
This book means the world to me because it represents my aunt's love and concern for my spiritual well-being. It's a reminder that I'm loved and cared for, I'm grateful for this gift, and I know that it will continue to inspire me to deepen my prayer life and trust in God's goodness.

"Such a beautiful read!
As a Nigerian I can totally relate.
Growing up, things like eyelid twitches, tongue bites or even hitting your foot were seen as bad omens.😁
Thankfully,I have outgrown those beliefs. My perspective about life has shifted, and I see things differently now.

Yeah, that's the best resort
Thanks for reading ma ♥️

I met a godly woman years ago that taught purposeful, focused and effective prayer. She called it, "Prayer Concert." more to do with two or more being gathered in his name... sounds like similar principles if I can find the book where I live.
Thanks for the reference @flawless-dee
