1️⃣ Hearing certain words after making a mistake and feeling judged and attacked in the deepest part of our being, what do you think of this phrase: "I told you so?" Would you also say it to someone else?

~ 𝐀𝐍𝐃 / 𝐎𝐑 ~

2️⃣ Of all the species in the animal kingdom, if you could be one of them, which one would you choose? Which one would you identify with and why?

Hi Ladies,

  1. Here is what I think about the phrase"I told you so"
When I make a mistake and someone tells me "I told you so," I always feel super hurt and I begin to have this feeling of not being good enough. When someone says this, it's like they're rubbing it in my face that I made a mistake. It's like they're saying, "I was right, and you're wrong." Ouch!
When someone makes a mistake, they already feel bad about it. Saying "I told you so" just makes them feel worse. It's like adding salt to an open wound. Instead of helping them learn from their mistake, you're making them feel judged and attacked. We may not be aware, but it has led a lot of people into depression, low self-esteem, and serious regrets.

Would I say it to someone else?
Honestly, I might say it if I warned someone several times and they didn't listen. But thinking about it more, maybe it's not the best approach. Even if I warned them, saying "I told you so" wouldn't help them much. Instead, I could use the opportunity to help them learn from their mistake.
The truth is, I realized I have been unknowingly hurting people when someone said it to me too, and since then, I stopped saying it to others.
I also learnt from my own experience that when someone makes a mistake, it's more helpful to be kind and supportive. What I'd say instead is, It's okay, we all make mistakes or I'm here to help or let's fix this together etc.
There are other things to say to someone who made a mistake, depending on the situation or the weight of their wrong.
Choosing your words rightly is the best trick in comforting anyone or someone. Being kind and supportive, we can help others feel more positive and motivated to learn from their mistakes. So, let's try to be more understanding and helpful, rather than saying "I told you so".

2.If I could be any specie in the animal kingdom, I'd choose the cat family! But to be more precise, I'd choose the Lion. We all know that Lions are known for their majestic manes and powerful roars. Aside these, there are. Other traits a Lion has which I wish to emulate:
Bravery and Fearlessness: Lions are not afraid to take risks and face challenges head-on. They're like the superheroes in any jungle.
Loyal and Protective: Lions are super loyal to their prides and will do anything to protect them. They are the ultimate guardians, which makes them superior to animals.
Confident and Charismatic: Lions exude great confidence and charisma, which makes them respected in the Animal kingdom.
Intelligent and Strategic: Lions are smart hunters and use clever strategies to catch their prey. They have unique skills that give them a greater advantage over other hunters in the Animal kingdom. An intriguing thing is that, no matter how big the prey is, a lion is never afraid to hunt.
My reason for choosing the lion isn't because I don't have these characteristic or traits at least I have them in minute quantity, notwithstanding I lack some for example I'm too afraid to take risk or try new things because of fear of "what if it doesn't work out", secondly I am loyal at least to a certain extent but I'm always nonchalant towards the people I love not because I don't care but I just assume they should be fine. I'm working on being a better person tho. 🙂

On the other hand, the animal I can identify with is the hare......funny right!?😂
In my elementary class, I read a book about a hare(a cartoon story), and from that time, I can still remember a few things I read about hares. Hares are fast, agile, and full of energy and also they are:
Quick and Agile: Hares are super fast and can change direction quickly, especially when they sense danger.
Resourceful and Adaptable: Hares are clever and can adapt to different environments.
Cautious and Alert: Hares are always on the lookout for predators and stay safe by being vigilant.
**Determined and Focused ** Hares are determined to reach their goals and stay focused on their path; they are not easily distracted.

I think I relate to the hare because we're both quick thinkers and love to stay active. Like hares, I'm always on the go. I'm also pretty determined and focused on my goals, just like hares are when they're running towards their destination. Plus, hares are adaptable, and I think that's an important trait for navigating life's challenges, and honestly, it has helped me so far.

While I'd love to be a lion for their bravery and charisma, I think I identify more with the hare's speed, agility, and determination. Both animals have unique traits that make them special.

It can be painful but some people need that word because of their stubbornness

Certainly when someone makes a mistake, they already feel bad about it, telling them the phrase is like rubbing salt in an open wound and yes, even when we do it unconsciously, it can lead to depression and low self-esteem, as you say, it is preferable to choose better words p
That serve as comfort
Feeling dentificr with the lion for his loyalty and recognising take for granted that those you love are well and to work on it, as well as with the hare for thinking, acting and staying active, no doubt both are very valuable, thank you for sharing your experiences,
