... if there's such a thing as flower porn at all, but I suppose if there's food porn, there has to be flower porn as well.

After the mărțișor fair that took place in the last week of February, the next one is the one I visited today is the biggest flower fair of the year as well. It's a huge event organized to supply flowers to those celebrating the international event that takes place each year on the 8th of March, called International Women's Day.
For me, this fair is an absolute must for several reasons. Yes, the most obvious one is that I can buy some flowers, but after a long and mostly sunny but grey winter, I can finally enjoy the multitude of colors and fragrance this fair offers each year. The second you arrive at the first flower stall, you can smell the lovely scent of hyacinths, which I believe is the strongest of all.
My country has four seasons on paper, in reality we mostly have three, but regardless, winter here doesn't permit growing anything outside, so we have seasonal flowers and tulips are one of them. It is a common motif in Hungarian folk art, especially on love gifts and embroideries. I love tulips a lot, but unfortunately they last for a very short period of time.
This market has the same faith as the previous one. Supply exceeds demand hundredfold and to have some decent sales, not just make ends meet, you need to come up with some very good ideas. Selling the same flower at the same price can only lead to slim results. This is why the offer is diversified and you can buy almost anything from individual flowers or bouquets, to baskets and really exquisite flower arrangements, depending on your budget and the person you'd like to gift flowers to.
Those who don't want to spend their money on flowers that last one week at best, have the opportunity to buy these dry flower arrangements that last a lifetime.
As I said, sky is the limit when it comes to creativity and you see flowers packed in baskets, wrapped in paper and even in these boxes.
The variety of flowers you see here is our usual 8th of March flower offer. Some flowers are perennial flowers, others are just for the event.

I think every lady is happy to get flowers as often as possible, but I was thinking of those who don't celebrate this day.
International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on 8 March, commemorating women's fight for equality and liberation along with the women's rights movement. International Women's Day gives focus to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women. Spurred by the universal female suffrage movement, International Women's Day originated from labor movements in Europe and North America during the early 20th century.
Imagine how many women have no right to anything, the are kept in the house and are dominated all their life. It's sad.

This is where things get interesting. Just watch.
As flowers are not the only thing you can gift to women on this special day, there were other items too, like these lovely gingerbread hearts, flowers and whatnot. Gingerbread is known as a Christmas sweet, but not in my country. These heart shaped gingerbread used to be souvenirs people would bring home from fairs to wife and kids, in the 20h century or earlier. I've never seen these gingerbread tulips but love them as well as the hearts and others. This is art in my eyes.
For those who like these unrealistic, kitschy flowers, you could buy them, although I overheard a seller saying she hopes they can sell these roses as in 2 days they sold 15. Poor performance, but honestly, why buy these when you have the seasonal ones?
I'm not going to lie, I stopped here when I saw the earrings, but bought nothing. These looked nice and they had those lovely kiwi green colors, but the design was not what I'd prefer.

Flower buckets and soap.

Look who decided to visit the flower market. After I took the photo, this cutie pie laid down under a table and didn't want to move. Then, after his owner's insistence, he got up, lazily moved on to sniffing the flowers.
He was very disciplined though, quite lazy and not at all interested in what was going on.
This is it for today. I hope you like flowers 😏
