I think we are at the peak of the attention economy and with all things I await its inevitable decline. However, there is certainly no shortage of effort to maximize this once in a lifetime amplification of our voices. I just do not think it is sustainable anyways, and we are seeing the rise of AI slowly but surely taking over the content space.
Eventually I think interest will wane, and we will rekindle our interest for smaller, closer-knit community and perhaps even physical interactions over virtual ones. However until this happens (if ever), one of the biggest life hacks in this present age is maneuvering through the seemingly endless offers for our attention.
No matter how science expands and how good medicine gets, there would perhaps be only so much it can do when it comes to life and experiences. The peak periods of life experiences will remain so I believe. I am in my early 30s now and when I compare how differently I saw the World in my twenties, I can't help but appreciate how differently things were and how much I cherish the memories. It will likely be the same story about my 30s another 10 years from now.
In all of this it is quite easy to lose our sense of authenticity when we keep entertaining every content on offer. Doomsday or mindless scrolling on social media has become one of the biggest addictions for us whether young or old. The only way to beat this I believe is to grab onto any semblance of what authenticity feels like to us and keep the distractions down to the barest minimum. Easier said than done though.
