There is a particular sales target that am not doing so well. What I find rather disturbing is that virtually all my peers are excelling at this. When I try to get insight from those I know the overwhelming majority attribute it to sheer luck. I could understand one or two, but surely a lot more than luck has something to play out with this performance.
I hear a lot of things at the office, but I try not to dwell. I just wonder why the luck seems reluctant to extend its clips to me. Most of what they call luck are simply referrals they got from people in their team. I haven't gotten any referrals, but it isn't from a lack of asking. It seems am either not doing some things right, or the bottle of luck decided to run out at my turn.
Needless to say struggling with performance while everyone seems to be having a breeze can be demoralising. I try to be happy for those excelling, and hoping for a breakthrough deal. Yet, I can't quite help but feel a certain way when I see the performance dashboard and my name sticks out for underperforming in this regard, knowing how much time and effort I've put into it.
There's almost a tendency to be completely discouraged and stop trying, but am not privy to such luxuries. I'll simply keep hoping for a turnaround performance sometime soon. It only takes one.
