Since Covid virtual meetings and systems have more or less come to stay. For a while we thought they were going to completely overshadow the physical meetings and replace them. Luckily that has not been the case. Instead what we have seen is a system where both systems are able to cohabit side by side.

From a personal perspective I can understand the convenience of virtual meetings. Logistics are a nightmare and when you're dealing with a gathering of people from all over the World it can be quite the burden to bear. Companies have certainly embraced the cheaper option and only use physical meetings for bigger events when they deem it absolutely necessary.

As much as I can undertand the lure of virtual meetings I must admit that am all too fond of physical meetings to ever let my preferences permanently change. I relish the opportunity to interact with familiar faces or at the very least meet in person. I believe there's a lot more that could be detected from senses like appearance and body language in person that we could ever really get in a virtual setting.
