One of the most interesting stories from the Bible is about the prodigal child. A boy who demanded forward compensation from this Dad in a premature quest for independence only to be humbled by life after living lavishly and exhausting what he'd received as his share from his Father.
Realising his mistake, and of course living out the consequences, he choose to go back and beg his Dad hoping for some form of acceptance but not knowing fully what to expect. What he got surprised everyone. The Father was so happy about his return that he threw a lavish party to celebrate the return of his 'lost son'.
Of course in real life and typical human behaviour this is much more difficult to accomplish. People that often go astray generally don't find their way back. Even when they do, they're not usually welcomed with open arms and all sins forgiven. There is usually a price attached to our choices to be paid. I of course have been at both the dishing and receiving end of a plea for redemption. I know how difficult it can be either ways, and I appreciate those who seek and accept it.
