Is Poverty more than just a mindset like one of my favourite teachers suggest? Am I simply too immature to recognize that running out of immediate liquidity and being poor are completely different? Perhaps I've missed it at some point. I mean I know how important it is to get the philosophy right, but sometimes the pocket bleeds rather loudly.
One of the worst feelings for me is to b e completely broke. I am fully aware nobody finds this feeling pleasant, but I think it affects me a lot more than others. I've never really liked credit as a means of paying for anything so when am broke and forced to sek out alternatives I certainly feel exposed. Of course there are people comfortable with utilizing credit and leveraging on debt. However, from my own individual corner, it simply isn't something I can fully embrace.
The right mindset to handle money comes irrespective of circumstances. Whether wealth or abundance, it is crucial for us that we have the right mindset and utilize it appropriately. Having the right mindset on money means virtues like delayed gratification, and financial discipline. It will very well last us through both the good and bad times should we possess it.
When there is a deep financial desire I can't quite meet I try to figure out where it is I might be lacking. I believe a mindset, philosophy or mentality on money is very important to imbibe, and rather quickly too. I've burnt my own financial fingers well enough on several occasions to have a decent idea of what am talking about.
