One of my favorite Aunts, the one closest to my late Father has sort of been unofficially acknowledged as the Matriarch of the wider extended family. She has a few qualities that define her personally and are hard to miss. Of those redeeming qualities she is rather known for her loyalty and straightforwardness.
Not one to mince words or pretend, there was a time when I was rather critical of that particular quality. Now though I seem to have gained a far better appreciation and understanding of her personality and would even say have been sort of influenced by her along the way.
While I still do not share her rather sharp tongue, I am not a big fan of suspense and Everyone close to me has come to realize that by now I guess. It is probably best not to get me involved or interested and then put me in the cleaners regardless of the situation.
I do understand that timing matters as far as presentation goes, but it doesn't quite do it for me. If there is bad news it is best I hear it quickly so I can digest it. Regardless of my mood I don't think one prepares for such unfortunate information anyways. Likewise, if there is something to cheer about. This goes beyond information but feelings are also included. In this regard I do wish a lot of people were a lot more straightforward.
There us so much pretense in our World today.
