It was a bright, sunny day, and the strong sunlight made the shadows stand out sharply as I walked around a local churchyard. I noticed how the sun caught the old headstones, casting dark rectangular shadows across the stone footpath. It looked as though they were forming a guard of honour as we walked down towards the church.
This is my entry to the Shadow Hunter's Community SMASh Contest - Round 439. Thank you to @melinda010100 and the team for hosting the contest.

Afterwards, we called in at a local shopping outlet. The sunlight was coming through the overhead canopy, creating some long, striped shadows across the wall and ground.

Finally, I noticed this simple white bench. With the sun behind it, it cast a cool ladder like pattern onto the cobblestones.
It may have been too hot for my liking these past few months, but one good thing about all this sunshine is the many shadows it has given me to photograph.
