Hello rally fans :)!
Entering the FIA World Rally Championship as an exclusive tire supplier for 2025 was never going to be an easy task, but Hankook has prepared for the challenge very well. From the frozen landscapes of Sweden to the upcoming heat of Africa, the South Korean tire manufacturer had already begun proving their worth in the world’s toughest rally conditions!
The transition has been quick. After years of Michelin and Pirelli dominating in WRC, Hankook stepped in with the goal of delivering high performance tires capable of withstanding the extreme demands of rallying. Their first major test came in Sweden, where icy roads, mud and snowbanks put traction and durability to the ultimate test. The results? Promising😛. The drivers quickly adapted, some had problems however Hankook’s winter compound showed it could handle high speed Scandinavian conditions with confidence!!
But WRC is about more than just one surface. Next up, the real proving ground isKenya’s Safari Rally. Often regarded as the most brutal event on the calendar, this rally throws everything at a tire: deep ruts, sharp rocks, sand, and unbearable heat. Surviving in Kenya is about endurance. Hankook knows this, and their development team has been hard at work preparing for what is arguably the ultimate test of a rally tire’s toughness.
With the early rounds already providing valuable data, it’s clear that Hankook is taking its WRC role very seriously. The restof the road won’t be easy, but if the company continues to rise it could soon establish itself as a force to be known with in the world of rallying.
