Hi hivers! How's your day? I hope you're all doing good and staying happy and healthy.💚
Every day, we wake up early, me and my daughter, Morning Belle.
Today, like always, we went to our backyard. We are going to harvest sponge gourd. It’s part of our daily routine. Morning Belle enjoys helping. She knows it’s not just for us. Some of the sponge gourd is for selling at her school. That’s her allowance budget for snacks, the rest is for the school feedings. Kids eat better when there’s vegetables. And Morning Belle is proud when she brings vegetables from home.
After picking, we went back inside. I washed the sponge gourd, I put the vegetables in the basket we have okra, string beans, cucumber and eggplant we harvested yesterday and we ready for school. I always reminding her to be careful and be thankful in a small blessing and appreciate those people who help and give something to us, I also said be thankful to God for giving all these blessing to our family.
On our way to school, she told me she’s excited. She loves selling vegetables and giving some for feedings. She’s learning about helping and earning, even at her age. of course, our sales will be buy also some snacks and her school things like crayons, pencil and paper.
At school, She is busy with the stuff and things, she is focus on her lessons and I helped a bit with the feeding. I watched the kids eat happily. Morning Belle smiles when her classmates say, your vegetables are yummy. It was a proud moment for me as a mom. In as simple happiness of the children I can feel the warmth and joy also as they enjoy eating vegetables. As a mom, we want to be happy and healthy our children.
After school, we didn’t rest yet. We had anther thing to do harvest string beans.
We went back to our backyard, this time in the afternoon. The sun was warmer, but Morning belle didn’t complain. She picked the string beans with care. This time, the vegetables is for our dinner and to give some to my in-laws.
I cooked the string beans while she rested. She looked tired but happy. I was too. While eating, I thought to myself, this used to be just a dream. To eat from our own backyard. To save money. To teach my child simple but real things in life.
Now, it’s our everyday life.
We don’t have much, but we have enough. And I have my daughter with me, learning, helping and growing.
As a mom, I share this simple story to remind others that even small things like harvest vegetables can teach big lessons. Hard work, saving, sharing and love. We don’t need a perfect life what matters is what we do with what we have. Let’s teach our kids to value simple blessing at a time.
Thank you for reading my story and for supporting me in this wonderful community. I hope my simple experience as a mom inspires others to see the joy in small things like picking vegetables while spending time with our children. Let’s continue to support each other in motherhood. God bless everyone. ❤️
