Hello everyone!
I hope you are all doing great! Today, I want to share about a happy and special event in our community. Last May 2025, we celebrated the 19th Patronal Fiesta for Sr. San Isidro Labrador, who is the patron saint of farmers. We also had our 10th Carabao Festival.
This celebration is important because we thank God for all the blessings in our land – our crops, food, and hard-working animals like the carabao. It is also a way to celebrate the lives of farmers who work hard o feed all of us.
One day before the carabao parade. We already started getting ready at the chapel. This day is called Anti disperas. We cleaned, prepared chairs and tables and some decorating. Not many people came to help that day, because many were also busy in their homes preparing food for fiesta and baptisms. I understand this because May is very busy time in farmers here in our area, also many families celebrate with food and thanksgiving.
Even though we were only a few, we still worked happily. I was the one who made the simple decorations for the chapel. I used vegetables like chili and tomatoes. Everything was from the garden. It was simple but looked beautiful, I believe that simple things can be nice, especially if made with effort and love.
On fiesta day, we had the most fun activity – the Carabao Parade! The carabaos were decorated with colorful clothes, flowers and even vegetables. They looked so cute and funny walking around the barangay road.
We also had judges who came from the barangay hall and a school principal to choose the best decorated carabao. Everyone was excited and enjoyed the moment. Children and adults were happy watching the parade.
Even if it was not a big or fancy event, it was very successful because the people were united, kind, and happy to help each other.
The essence of our celebration is we want to thank God for the blessings of nature. We also want to honor farmers and animals, especially the carabao who help grow our land. This event teaches us to love our land and respect the people who take care of it.
It is also nice to pass on this tradition to the younger generation, so they will learn how important farming is in our lives.
I am happy that I helped in the decorations and programs, even if it was just a small thing, I used what we had, vegetables from the garden and made something simple but meaningful. I also took some pictures during the event and edited the on Canva to make them nice for posting.
This experience made me feel proud. I saw people enjoying, laughing and being together. That’s the true beauty of simple celebrations.
This is my own photo, taken during our celebration and preparation and edited in Canva. A special memory from our chapel celebration, showing creativity, tradition and love for farming life.
Thank you for reading my story today. I hope you enjoyed it. Let us all continue to support our local farmers, protect our land and celebrate the simple joys in life.
See you on my next blog. God bless you all! 💚
