Mathematics competitions have emerged as a vital tool in enhancing the educational background of primary school students especially here in Delta State, Nigeria, these competitions provide a platform for young learners to showcase their mathematical skills, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation by participating in mathematics competitions students can develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical which also encourage students to build confidence in mathematics, dispelling the notion that math is a difficult subject. Moreover mathematics competitions promote healthy competition among students, motivating them to work harder and strive for excellence which also helps the Teachers and schools, as these competitions help identify areas for improvement for instructional strategies.
Early this week I had the previlage to be at one of this competition and more say we need to continue to nurture the mathematical talents of our children while there are still very young and vibrant and watch them excel.
