This is glacial melt water. Fresh off the six tiny glaciers up above. The six glaciers are: Upper Victoria, Lower Victoria, Aberdeen, Lefroy, Upper Lefroy, and Popes. At this point in the hike we are getting close to the finish line. But first we must cross this foot bridge, in order not to get our boots soaked in the ice cold water. Easy choice. Probably the worst feeling is to have wet hiking boots and socks. I like dry as much as possible. Dry is good. Earlier on, on the first leg of the hike, we did have to put up with a brief rain, which we managed to escape relatively dry, but if it hadn’t have stopped, it would have certainly ruined the entire hike!
