The extension of the love of God is universal: He gave up His Son for a corrupt world Romans 5: 8. The generosity of His love is clear, His Son was offered for all, without favoritism (Matthew 5: 45). The beneficial value of this gift is eternal life for everyone who receives Jesus as Lord and Saviour (John 3: 35 – 36).
Love is mutual just as it is also binding. In Christ, love made God in the likeness of man and humanity divine. God’s love is the ultimate foundation of the believers faith. Scripture tells us that we were born in sin and the wages of sin is death, not merely physical death but eternal distancing from God.
