Doing the will of God doesn't yield much success if it is something that is done with the arm of flesh. Our Christian race is solely dependent on the spirit. We need to rely on Him for virtually everything we do, if not we may fall short in a lot of areas.
Our will power can disappoint us. We in ourselves so not have the capability to please God even though we sincerely desire to do so. Quite a number of people we see today who are walking outside the will of God are not doing so because they hate God but because they can't do it on there own and they haven't yet relied on the Holy Spirit for help.
Our flesh is our biggest enemy as believers. It fights against everything that the spirit tries to manifest through us. And the bible says to truly worship God we must do it in spirit and in truth. The whole idea of worshipping God is to do what pleases Him.
But like the bible says, we have to do it in spirit and we can only do this after we must have depended on Him.
