Pàramo "El Zumbador"

Greetings to my dear readers; today I wanted to move to the heights to tell you about a new family adventure that I love the most and you will agree with me that the best adventures are the ones we spend with our beloved people.

Un saludos a mis queridos lectores; el día de hoy me he querido trasladar a las alturas para contarles la nueva aventura familiar que son las que más me encantan y ustedes estarán de acuerdo conmigo que las mejores aventuras son las que pasamos con nuestra gente querida.

This December we took our cars, filled up with plenty of fuel and went to travel the Andean zone of my beautiful country Venezuela. To be more exact we went to visit the Paramo “El Zumbador” a beautiful place hidden at 2,600 meters above sea level.

Éste diciembre tomamos nuestros carros, llenamos de bastante combustible y nos fuimos a recorrer la zona andina de mi hermoso paìs Venezuela. Para ser más exactos nos fuimos a visitar el Páramo “El Zumbador” un lugar precioso escondido a 2.600 metros sobre el nivel del mar.

For those who do not know the State of Táchira I can tell you that it is located towards the west of Venezuela and borders with the brother country of Colombia. Táchira is made up of hillsides and mountains where the richest vegetables that feed the whole country are harvested.

Para los que no conocen el Estado Táchira les puedo contar que está ubicado hacia el occidente de Venezuela y limita con el hermano paìs de Colombia. El Táchira está compuesto por laderas y montañas y en ellas se cosechan las más ricas hortalizas que alimentan todo el paìs.

Ahhh! I can't forget the beautiful rose crops! Every time we go there I try to buy as many flowers as I can to decorate the church and our houses.

The day was very rainy, the sun was not our faithful friend that day, so as usual we took a sweater, hat and scarf to bear the cold.

¡Ahhh! ¡No me puedo olvidar de los hermosos cultivos de rosas! Cada vez que vamos trato de comprar todas las flores que puedo para decorar la iglesia y nuestras casas.

El día estuvo muy lluvioso, el sol no era nuestro amigo fiel ese día, así que como ya es costumbre nos llevamos suéter, gorro y bufanda para soportar el frio.

We arrived at the paramo at about 4 in the afternoon, after touring the town of copper and La Grita and as it was a little late we did not get the food we were looking for so we had to eat the famous skewers of meat and chicken, accompanied by potatoes and jojoto.

Llegamos al paramo a eso de las 4 de la tarde, luego de hacer el recorrido por el pueblo del cobre y La Grita y como ya era algo tarde no conseguimos la comida que estábamos buscando así que nos tocó comer los famosos pinchos de carne y pollo, acompañados de papas y jojoto.

After satisfying our appetite we took a tour of the local stores; the most delicious of all are the strawberries with cream, as they are fresh, as if just out of the plant and while some ate sweet, others took the opportunity to drink hot chocolate or something more spicy as is the “calentado” for those who do not know it is miche seasoned with herbs.

Luego de satisfacer nuestro apetito dimos un recorrido por las tiendas del lugar; lo más rico de todo son las fresas con crema, ya que están frescas, como recién salidas de la planta y mientras unos comían dulce, otros aprovechamos de tomar chocolate caliente o algo más picante como lo es el “calentado” para los que no saben se trata de miche aliñado con hiervas.

Being in that place fills you with peace, it makes your soul happy. It is very nice to be among your people, your roots, surrounded by nature.

It is a town that has history, that is preserved despite time, where people treat you with affection, not because you are a customer, but because that is how my Andean people are, kind, cordial, respectful.

Estar en ese lugar te llena de paz, te alegra el alma. Es muy bonito estar entre tu gente, tus raíces, rodeado de la naturaleza.

Es un pueblo que tiene historia, que se conserva a pesar del tiempo, donde la gente te trata con cariño ¡no porque seas cliente! sino porque así es mi gente andina, amable, cordial, respetuosa.

We left that town in the late afternoon, sure that someday we will return to visit this beautiful land and enjoy these enchanting landscapes.

As we descended, we were accompanied by the sunset, while the eucalyptus trees bid us farewell.

Nos fuimos de ese pueblo al caer la tarde, seguros de que algún día volveremos a recorrer esta hermosa tierra y disfrutar estos encantadores paisajes.

A medida que íbamos bajando nos acompañaba la caída del sol, mientras que los arboles de eucalipto nos daban la despedida.

I am grateful to God for allowing me to enjoy my life, my family and my land, I can only tell you that if you can go for a walk with your loved ones do it because it is something that fills you with an incomparable happiness and the memories will continue to fill my spirit to be very happy.

Agradecida estoy con Dios por permitirme disfrutar de mi vida, de mi familia y de mi tierra, no me queda más que decirles que si ustedes pueden salir a pasear con sus seres queridos lo hagan porque es algo que te llena de una felicidad inigualable y los recuerdos me seguirá llenando mi espíritu para ser muy feliz.
