It kind of seems like it was forever ago that Michigan State was taking the field in the game above against Florida Atlantic. It also kind of feels like this is one of he last times that they actually won a game this season! After having a bye last weekend, Michigan State is back in action against Illinois this weekend.
Although Illinois has fallen out of the top 25, it still isn't going to be an easy game for the Spartans. Illinois is 6-3 on the season and MSU has been running through a gauntlet of tough teams in their recent schedule. It has been absolutely brutal.
I hope that they can come away with the victory this weekend.
It's actually going to be hard for me, because I think the football team and the basketball team are both playing at pretty much the same time. I will have to either DVR one and go back and watch it, or flip back and forth between the two.
As far as other games go this weekend, there are a couple that you might want to keep an eye on if you are looking for some good college football.
We are jumping right into things on Saturday with a top tier match up between (20) Clemson and Pittsburgh. Both teams are 7-2 on the season and this could be a really good game. I don't even know if I will bother putting money on it. Pitt will have the home field advantage and that might be what it needs to knock Clemson out of the top 25.
Navy has what might be a tough game against (25) Tulane, but given they are the home team, they also might be able to use that to their advantage.
Don't let Mercer's 9-1 record fool you, they probably have little chance of beating the 7-2 Crimson Tide this weekend.
The action picks up again at 4:30 with (23) Missouri heading to (21) South Carolina. This could be a really good game for sure. Missouri only has one more win than South Carolina.
Then at seven, we have a couple more good games that you might want to keep an eye on.
7-2 Arizona State takes on 7-2 (16) Kansas State, and (13) Boise State takes their 8-1 record on the road to face 6-3 San Jose State. I have a feeling Boise State will win, but who knows when they actually have to play on green turf instead of that blue stuff!
Finally, in what is probably the biggest game of the weekend, (7) Tennessee heads to (12) Georgia. Tennessee has a 8-1 record versus Georgia's 7-2 record. This could be the best game you watch all day. Don't take my word for it though.
Will Oregon and BYU remain undefeated? You will have to check back next Monday or watch yourself to find out!
