Fearing and embracing new technology

in LeoFinance13 days ago

Technology is something that keeps changing continuously. Some people embrace the new technology and some people don't like it. In spite of whatever people think, the one who gets a warm welcome survives and sets a trend. There is always a question in mind whether we are up to date with technology and what the external world is like. Even though people try to learn new technologies, it is not as easy as we think.

Keeping up to date with technology

This is the most difficult part. Staying up to date with the trend itself is a difficult thing, and that's why some people get outdated and a generation gap is seen. Staying up to date with technology is something that also requires a lot of effort. Some people naturally have that flare, and however old they get, they easily adapt to the new changes and new technology. I know someone who is nearing his 80 years of age and has a high curiosity to learn new technology or know about new technologies.

As a developer, I myself find it very hard to stay up to date with technology. When people try to learn some new skills, within just 6 months, that skill becomes outdated, and there is something new in the market. This keeps happening a lot. For someone who is just getting started in their career, they have to do a lot of learning, and they have to keep themselves up to date.

Should we fear new technology

I would say yes because the way the world is going, it is definitely making people very lazy. Calculator was a great revolution, but we saw how it made people forget doing calculations in mind. A basic fear is always there when learning new technology, too. From a perspective where we see competition in any learning, a small fear arises. When we see college people doing good with new technology and someone who is an experienced individual struggling to learn the technology to upskill themselves, it is hard to decide whether we should fear or embrace.

I agree to the fact that some technological advances take a lot of time to adapt. Some technical stuff doesn't even create an impact if it is very complicated for people to understand. Today I can see two technologies that are trying to get its place. One is blockchain, and another is AI and ML. The way AI and ML are getting the attention is really impressive but blockchain technology is not getting the adoption as expected, and some blockchains, even though they are very good, struggle to stay in the market and trend.

Keeping up with rapid technological changes is indeed tough, but essential. Embracing innovation while being mindful of its impact can help us adapt better and stay relevant in this ever-evolving world.

Following technology is also very expensive if you wanna buy all new stuff... And well ai will make people super lazy

Well I can say technology is evolving very fast this days, before you even understand one fully another one is out, so it takes consistency to keep up

I really agree with this. Technology is moving so fast, and it’s not easy for everyone to keep up. Some people are excited about it, while others feel left behind. The gap between generations is becoming more clear too.”

I think new tech is kinda like looking plane on stone age. They are thingking that the plane is a alien or ghost. And i think it same here 7 years ago many people including me think that BTC is scam

For me I believe strongly that we are on the trajectory of embracing the new world of technology

I am quite open to new technology even if it comes with risks. Without it the evolution would be slowly so if we want breakthroughs we need to assume the risk as well.
