The power of a chair
For as long as I can remember, politicians have gone to any lengths to secure a portfolio, a ministerial position, or simply the Presidential Chair. It doesn't matter how they get there, even if they have to sell their soul to the devil.

In other aspects of daily life, occupying a chair can be a simple gesture of earned honor. I remember at home, when mealtime came, everyone had an assigned seat; Dad always took the chair at the far end of the table and Mom the other. We, depending on our age and sex, went to the right or the left. The important thing was that everyone should be seated around the table, clean, and in our places.
There's a group dynamic that consists of occupying a chair before someone else does. Participants dance around several chairs while the music plays. When it stops, they must take a place; whoever remains unseated loses... This continues until only two people remain dancing around a single chair, one of whom will occupy it at the end.

Desde que tengo uso de razón, los políticos hacen hasta lo imposible por hacerse de una Cartera, puesto ministerial o sencillamente ocupar la Silla Presidencial. No importa el cómo llegar a ella, así tengan que vender su alma al diablo.

En otros aspectos de la vida diaria, ocupar la silla puede ser un simple gesto de honor ganado. Recuerdo en casa, cuando llegaba la hora de la comida, cada quien tenía un puesto asignado; siempre papá ocupaba la silla al extremo de la mesa y mamá el otro. Nosotros, dependiendo de la edad y el sexo, íbamos a la derecha o a la izquierda. Lo importante era que todos deberíamos estar sentados alrededor de la mesa, aseados, ocupando nuestros lugares.
Hay una dinámica grupal que consiste en ocupar la silla antes que otro lo haga. Los participantes danzan alrededor de varias sillas mientras se escucha la música, al parar, deben ocupar un puesto; quien quede sin sentarse pierde... Así, sucesivamente hasta que quedan solo dos personas bailando alrededor de una sola silla, uno de ellos será quien la ocupe al final.
