Art and Creativity Journal: Last Week I Painted — Week Three, 2026

in GEMS4 months ago

Welcome to the Week Three recap of my new work completed during the previous week. These are just pictures of the stones just painted in "raw" format, before they get their protective finish coat.

I'm using the Danish numbering system for weeks that I grew up with, which means weeks start on Monday and end on Sunday. As much as anything, the purpose of these posts is to create a "catalog" of sorts.

It was a bit of a "slow" week, mostly because we had a lot of "external factors" getting in the way of being able to sit down and do creative work. Life is busy, quite often!

Finally felt inspired to take on one of the somewhat larger stones from my recent beach trips, using what we often call the "Cosmic Chakra" colors.

This one turned out quite well, and will be a lot darker and "richer" in color, once it gets a finish coat.

This is a smaller somewhat "experimental" stone; mostly testing out a new breand of red pigment to see if it has better cover than what I was previously using.

Verdict: Not really. Red is just a tricky color to work with.

With Valentine's Day not far out, I have do finish some more prosaic pieces, just because people ask for them.

I don't usually like to paint on "fat" rocks, but this one was almost heart shaped... and... yeah.

Another small "experimental" piece. This one is painted on white granite, which is usually too rough to paint on. It's a LITTLE bit "flossy" in places, but better than I had expected.

It was definitely a bit of a *"thin" week, but there really was a lot of random stuff going on around here.

Tomorrow, I'm going to play around with the @peakd "Store" feature... it's only 0.10 HBD a month for a subscription, so worth giving it a try.

Thank You!
