This brings me to an important point to consider: the level of understanding of the child. At certain early stages, I believe no type of discipline is valid, as the child lacks the maturity to comprehend right and wrong. Punishing them would simply be a form of domestication, which, from my point of view, is different from true discipline.
If all parents understood this, we would not only have much happier children, but also much happier future adults. Unfortunately, some parents treat children as if they were mini adults with responsibilities and no chance to make mistakes in order to learn.
