A Death Report Card From A Device

in SciFi Multiverse8 days ago

Aarrrggg was the sound I gave seeing the topic for the first edition, lol.

Actually, we tend to waste some precious time because we are clueless of some fact about our lives and even when we know that death is inevitable and could come at any point in life, we still make some decisions that may either cause our existence to be referred as little or no impact when we are no more there.

Death is inevitable but who particularly knows when it will come knocking? No one and this actually made me think in a funny way after thinking about this prompt where it ask me what I'll do with this device that can tell when a person will die and then my entrepreneur mind struck the fact that I could just get this death-time casting device, get an office and check for people at a price that will be affordable based on their demographics and I'm sure I'll have a long queue. So funny, lol.

It struck me again in a way that if truly this device was in place, it's possible I could have known that I will be losing some special people at some early stage of my life and I would have just used all I have to care for them while they are still living before their time of death arrives.

But then, knowing all these things are actually like unnecessary pressures and trauma because in the case of someone who has always wished for a long life and this device ends up telling him/her they will be dieing in the next 5years, there's no certainty that they will be after the enjoyment they can enjoy for those remaining years but they would rather wallow in sadness and might even die before their actual time.

So actually, I'm clueless or confused right now if I'll be buying the device or not cos some things are better left unknown so that we won't end up drawing our ends faster than it should have been.
God who made the time of birth and death a mystery knows it's not something we can have control over so I'd rather let it be.

Because at the end of it all, a saying from my tribe that I learned from my mum ends it all which is:
Mio le sare motor kolu keke
Meaning "I can't run from a harm to another." I can't go from frying pan to fire because of my curiosity.

I'll be dropping my 🖊️ here on the Scifi Multiverse Prompt

Thanks for reading through 🤗

A device like that won't benefit the world in any way, it's just going to cause fear amongst humans and also depression.
Death is unpredictable and should remain unpredictable.

Running from fear but at the end being overshadowed by the fear of what one is running from.....

Some things are better left unknown o, if you purchase this one, you begin to lose your peace. That's just the truth. You even stop existing from the day you get it....

Exactly Millie.... Just like any patient of any form of serious sickness like those HIV and the likes even pregnancy
They're always fine before knowing but the moment they know they have that thing, their health begins to deteriorate. So it's not really the sickness (or the news of death) killing anymore but the fear of what's about to happen

You gerrit Mama...
Knowing what's best left as unknown gas its cost too... Takes ones peace away.

You've stated a fact. Some things are better left mysterious.
Such device shouldn't exist because it will traumatize a lot of people. Some might die out of panic before their death time.

That's just it and what's the essence when the death one is afraid of ends up visiting before the actual time
