You know what? I finally made it to Saturday. I've been stepping on the gas a bit uncontrollably, needing to get to this exact day, at this exact time... not exactly because I'd have big plans, but at least I can totally disconnect from work... even so, there are things that occasionally turn on a red light at the devilish hour at three am in the morning, and make me get up to forward some information that was pending from the previous day. What things!! DAMN IT!! IT'S TIME TO STOP.
Luckily, music has that hypnotic effect that allows you to mentally stop and disconnect from all that crazy noise that doesn't let you isolate yourself a little, and the best thing is that once you have it, it literally works like a concomitant coma that takes you away from everything (well, a happy coma I guess) ... that must be why I need it to displace recurring and annoying thoughts ... and no, they don't have the right to invade my privacy during the weekend ... luckily I came across some gems that I'm sharing with you because I found it super interesting how music travels through time and is "politely" transformed from generation to generation, I just ask that you don't judge it too harshly, and that you enjoy it ... because I loved it.
Yes, yes, I know that being connected to social media for too long can produce a certain level of saturation and control over your attitudes and thoughts, and although I don't have, nor do I dedicate much space to it, I still love to discover new things that surprise me from time to time: those catchy tones that are repeated and repeated when their choreography is danced by Zambia, Mozambique, Spain, France, the US, and multitudes of Asian children make it fashionable, perhaps...maybe if it were my generation I would be right now trying to learn all the steps and dance to the rhythm of Anxiety performed by Doechii on 2020.
I guess the lyrics and music are fine, and while some may disagree on how to blend such a thorny topic individually as anxiety and depression into a rhythm that invites dancing and fun - just by seeing the smiles on the faces of the people who upload their choreography videos, you can tell they're not interested in the lyrics, just the tunes - the song is definitely well-received and meets the expectations of most listeners. So, this is how we operate these days. People are simply carried away by what the musical notes of a song make them feel... a new social phenomenon? No, it's normal... I don't think it's the first time it's happened. Although my native language isn't English, I can ignore the lyrics of a song, but whenever I like something at first glance, I want to explore it further... but many people just prefer to stay away from that. I still loved the song and its rhythm, even though I'm not part of this new generation. But, most importantly, this song seems to be a cover of another must-see: Somebody I Just To Know, performed by Gotye ft. Kimbra from 2012...amazing! Please don't tell me you don't like it! It has such strong, painful, rebellious, demanding, direct lyrics that you can't tear yourself away from the journey through the man's naked body (at the beginning of the video) and the gesticulation of his mouth in each phrase that denounces his inner pain... there are songs that, even if you haven't experienced what they speak of, will move you! Now, if you listen carefully to the first chords, you'll realize they're the exact same ones that begin Doechii's trending song...go...check...listen: Do you hear it? ...they sound the same!! But, after all, there will be no complaints! Because they themselves are stealing the first chords from an instrumental piece called "Seville," composed and performed by Luiz Bonfá, an important Brazilian artist of the 60s and 70s, an excellent guitarist and composer of the Bossa Nova, Jazz, and Samba song genres. In short, you realize that, despite all the twists and turns life takes, music travels through time in an eternal dance shared by its people... I know copyright exists, but in the end, it breaks free like a queen eagle that nests and flies free through every mountain peak... in the same way, people make it their own... because music frees the soul and soothes the heart, and above all, it remains in our memories as the support that helped us deal with our burdens through life. If I'm sure of one thing, it's that I learned to manage many of my emotions through music... These were my suggestions for this beautiful Saturday. I hope you enjoyed them, my dear friends!
The man danced from his first meetings, or something like this...could it be a cave painting?
I definitely burned the egg while listening to the music... beware of your hypnotic power.😅
Yellow flowers are my favorite, let's just say I'm drawn to their clear, fresh, musical light. I would have preferred to bring you a sunflower if I had one.
Always very grateful for your reading.
