How To Make The African Semovita.

Semo is one of my favorite African dishes. That’s because it is very easy to get and I know how to make it very well.
Some say it is tasteless but it has a great African taste and look. Fun fact, Semo is a morsel. Let’s see how to make Semo so we can do this together..

The first step is boiling an amount of water. This will depend on the amount or quantity of Semo you want to make. Since, it’s just for me, I’m boiling a small quantity of water.

When it gets boiled, you gradually pour some Semo powder into the water which will be used to make the paste.

The Semo paste has to be done before any other thing. Some people usually make their Semo paste by pouring some Semo powder into a cold water and mix them well before pouring it in the boiling water. I can do that as well but seem stressful for me because I’m very good at it so I just try the simple and straightforward method to make my paste.

After I made the paste, I waited for it to boil well which gave this foamy look. As easy as it is to make Semo, there should be no mistake because a single mistake can result into a lump.
I’m sure no one likes lump in their Semo so we have to do it well.

After that, we pour more Semo into the boiling paste and we never stop until it gets smooth. You have to mix and stir tirelessly till it gets smooth which is just what I did.

Then, I wait for about five minutes for the Semo to get well cooked and that’s it. This is one of the most popular African foods that can be shared in parties as well.
I waited for it to get cooked and dished it in my plate, added the best soup that goes well with it and I enjoyed my meal.
