La semana pasada fui a casa de mis padres y luego de conversar un buen rato decidí ir a dormir un ratito a la que era mi habitación. Fui la última en casarme y siento que todavía es mi habitación, hay muchas cosas mías aún y la verdad me gusta pasar un rato en lo que era mi cama, la fuerza de la costumbre. En fin, allí está un aire acondicionado cuyo control lo daba por dañado, así que encendía el aire de forma manual y constantemente decía que pronto compraría un nuevo control pero la verdad dad es que se me olvidaba completamente.
En esta ocasión estaba conmigo y al mirarme encender el aire de forma manual, me preguntó por el control y le respondí lo que siempre había creído, que el control estaba dañado porque le funcionaba solo una tecla. Mi esposo me lo pidió y se lo di pero sin ninguna esperanza. Resulta que al desarmarlo me llevé una gran sorpresa 😮
Last week I went to my parents' house, and after chatting for a while, I decided to go take a quick nap in what used to be my room. I was the last one to get married, and I still feel like it’s my room—there are still a lot of my things there, and honestly, I like spending some time in what used to be my bed; old habits die hard. Anyway, there’s an air conditioner there whose remote I assumed was broken, so I’d turn it on manually and constantly say I’d buy a new remote soon, but the truth is I’d completely forgotten about it.
This time he was with me, and when he saw me turning on the AC manually, he asked me about the remote, and I told him what I’d always believed—that the remote was broken because only one button worked. My husband asked for it, and I gave it to him, but without any hope. It turns out that when I took it apart, I got a big surprise 😮
El control estaba sucio, sin embargo, jamás pensé que esto era lo que hacía que no funcionara. Mi esposo lo comenzó a limpiar y me dijo que ese era el problema, la verdad es que no le creí. Cierto, estaba sucio pero de ahí a que funcionara era imposible desde mi punto de vista. Como mencioné anteriormente lo daba por vencido, dañado, irreparable. De verdad que muchas veces nos equivocamos.
The control panel was dirty, but I never thought that was what was causing it to malfunction. My husband started cleaning it and told me that was the problem, but to be honest, I didn’t believe him. Sure, it was dirty, but I couldn’t see how that could possibly fix it. As I mentioned earlier, I had written it off as broken and beyond repair. We really do get it wrong a lot of the time.
Después de limpiarlo, mi esposo me mencionó que iba a demostrarme que ese era el problema pero yo estaba un poco escéptica, es más, a decir verdad estaba incrédula en su totalidad.
After cleaning it, my husband told me he was going to show me that that was the problem, but I was a little skeptical—in fact, to tell the truth, I was completely skeptical.
Posteriormente, comenzó a armarlo nuevamente con mucho cuidado y con una paciencia admirable que se unía a su firme convicción de que iba a funcionar.
He then began to put it back together again with great care and admirable patience, driven by his firm conviction that it would work.
Amigos, ocurrió lo que menos pensé. El control funcionó perfectamente 😃
Está anécdota me enseñó la importancia del mantenimiento de cosas pequeñas, jamás se me ocurrió que ese control no funcionaba porque estaba sucio y mucho menos que mi esposo lo iba a reparar, en realidad, a ponerlo operativo. Me ahorré el dinero que iba a gastar en un control nuevo y me quedó la moraleja de que no debo precipitarme a botar nada porque es posible que sea algo muy sencillo lo que le esté impidiendo sun buen funcionamiento.
Lo mejor en todos los casos es hacerle mantenimiento preventivo a nuestras cosas y agotar los recursos antes de sustituirlos. De esta manera quedó el control del aire acondicionado de mi antigua habitación: limpio, funcional y como nuevo.
Qué maravilla poder aprender de primera mano que las cosas no solo.hay que cuidarlas sino también darle su debido mantenimiento a tiempo para evitar que se nos dañen. Es la mejor manera de ahorrarnos gastos innecesarios. Me sentí orgullosa de mi esposa y un poco apenada por llevarle la contraria hasta el momento en que lo pude comprobar por mi misma. Me imagino que esto pasa en todos los matrimonios, así que la pena me duró muy poco 😊
Lo mejor de todo es que el control del aire acondicionado está como de paquete. Qué genial 🥳
Guys, the last thing I expected happened. The remote worked perfectly 😃
This little story taught me the importance of taking care of the little things. It never occurred to me that the remote wasn’t working because it was dirty, let alone that my husband would fix it—or rather, get it working again. I saved the money I was going to spend on a new remote, and I learned the lesson that I shouldn’t rush to throw anything away because it might just be something very simple that’s preventing it from working properly.
In every case, it’s best to perform preventive maintenance on our belongings and exhaust all options before replacing them. That’s how the air conditioner remote for my old bedroom ended up: clean, functional, and like new.
It’s wonderful to learn firsthand that we don’t just have to take care of our belongings—we also need to maintain them properly and on time to prevent them from getting damaged. It’s the best way to save ourselves unnecessary expenses. I felt proud of my wife and a little embarrassed for having argued with her until I saw it for myself. I imagine this happens in every marriage, so my embarrassment didn’t last long 😊
Best of all, the air conditioning control is included as part of the package. How cool 🥳
