Dear @elizabethbit, I live in one of the most multicultural countries in America, to top it off, in the Caribbean, so you can imagine where I'm coming from.
In my country, we drink tea as well as coffee. However, there is a big difference. In this case, coffee is part of our culture, of our idiosyncrasy.
I can't imagine Cubans, in general, without a cup of coffee in the morning.
So, to answer your questions, as much as I love British culture, I prefer coffee to tea.
We have an incredible climate and conditions to grow coffee and tobacco, two of the products that we export and consume the most in my country.
In fact, they often go hand in hand, since those who smoke do so when they drink coffee. I don't know the reason, but the smoker drinks coffee and feels the need to light up a cigarette.
I don't. I love coffee, but I like it better in company. Coffee has that social unifying power that other drinks do not have.
For example, every morning I drink my first cup of coffee, piping hot, in bed with my wife.
I have indulged her in that, in bringing her breakfast in bed and it is not a complete breakfast without coffee.
I like any coffee recipe, except American coffee, coffee with alcohol (rum, whiskey, etc.) or coffee with cow's milk or other milk, except condensed milk.
Oh, if it's with condensed milk, I think I can drink liters. I love it.
I am fortunate that caffeine does not keep me awake or disturb me. I read something about it, and my metabolism burns it off quickly and that's why it doesn't keep me awake. Therefore, I can drink it many times and at any time of the day.

Yo no. Me encanta el café, pero me gusta más en compañía. El café tiene ese poder de aglutinador social que no tiene otras bebidas.
Por ejemplo, todas las mañanas me tomo mi primera taza de café, bien caliente, en la cama con mi esposa.
La he consentido en eso, en llevarle el desayuno a la cama y, no es un desayuno completo sin el café.
Me gusta cualquier receta de café, menos el café americano, el café con alcohol (ron, whisky, etc) o el café con leche de vaca u otra leche, excepto la leche condensada.
Ah, si es con leche condensada, creo poder beber litros. Me encanta.
Tengo la dicha de que no me desvele ni altere la cafeína. Leí algo al respecto, y es que mi metabolismo la quema rápido y por eso no me desvela. Por tanto, lo puedo beber bastantes veces y en cualquier momento del día.
Todo un privilegio, creo yo.
